This is the question I get asked the most, and it’s the question that I used to ask myself all too often before I figured out a few different things that helped me.
Before we get into the practical things you can do, it’s important for me to point out that your mindset is going to be the number one determinant in your ability to attract and receive new clients. If you don’t believe in your ability to be a good coach, to make money, to guide your clients effectively, to be a “thought leader” (that’s a whole other blog post), or any of the other things YOU THINK need to occur in order for you to achieve what you want, you will never get there. The best strategy is no match for a lack of belief in your ability to do what you want to do.
You need a clear vision and an idea of the path you want to take to get there (the two can be different FYI). You will have to do work around the disempowering values and beliefs you have that are keeping you at your current level.
Now don’t let that scare you off. These things can be worked on and the most successful people in the world have had to work through limiting beliefs and fears as they moved up to each new level of success. If this is something you would like to go deeper into, then head on over to the course I created called RICHNESS to specifically help you with this!
Now let’s get into the top 3 things you can do to start attracting and signing more clients…
This doesn’t mean doing a million things and creating a million freebies or giving out free coaching services!
You need to show people that you know what you’re talking about and that you’re the one to help them. This could just be talking about common challenges your ideal clients have on instagram stories or in a caption and talking about how you would work through that problem or give them some tips. You can talk about something a client of yours has struggled with and how you helped them get through it. You could do a quick IG live training where you talk about 3 top tips on the things your ideal clients worry about (you should know this from your market research). There are so many different ways you can do this so be creative with it.
An important aspect of this is showing up consistently. This builds trust and shows your people that they can always expect to learn something from you.
Another important component of this is video! Video is the quickest and most effective way to build trust with your audience. Have a think about how you relate to people who show up in video vs those who only post images. Video is such a powerful tool in allowing people to feel like they know you and not just know of you.
People need to feel like they know you in order to buy from you. They need to feel like they trust you and that you have a connection with them. In order for this to happen you need to engage with them. Gone are the days of just expecting to get followers and build a business by posting a picture with a few hashtags. You have to differentiate yourself from the people who are still doing it that way but actually being social on social media.
This means responding to EVERY comment on your posts and asking questions back. It means responding to every DM (bot NOT coaching in the DM’s).
Use all the features that the platform you use offers in order to get your community to connect with you. This includes things in IG stories, YouTube, Facebook, all of it! Experiment with ways you can encourage the people who have taken the time to follow you to feel connected to you. This will help people think of YOU as the person they can go to when they are looking for someone to pay for guidance.
If you want people to buy from you, you have to let them know that you have something they can buy!
If you’re consistently doing the first 2 tips, you’re already well on your way to doing this. You don’t have to say “buy my thing” in order to sell. There are so many ways you can sell thats FEELS good and excites your potential clients!
Sharing your value and connecting with your community are going to help you tremendously. You also need to mention that people can come to you if they are looking for deeper guidance, more specific guidance or if you have a specific product or service that can help someone achieve X result.
Have a look at the people you look up to in your industry and notice the ways they sell without selling. Think about the times you’ve made a purchase and notice what that person did or said that helped you make the decision to buy.
I have a deep belief that selling is serving. I have information that can help people get what they want and it is my job as given to me by my boss (The Universe) to show people how I can help them.
I would love to know if you have anything to add to this? Are there any practices or strategies you’ve implemented that have helped you attract more clients to your business?
